Homemade ranch dip beats the bottled stuff once you taste how bright the herbs stay. I use sour cream and mayo as the base so it clings to a carrot stick. Buttermilk thins it without making it runny. Dried dill works if fresh is not around, though fresh tastes cleaner. Chill at least 30 minutes; the flavors wake up in the cold. I make a double batch for game nights because it disappears.
